Our Undergraduate Accounting and Master of Science (Accounting) degrees and Certificate of Advanced Accountancy program build on Purdue's historical strength in developing students with outstanding analytical, technical and critical thinking skills. Our graduates join a network of Purdue alumni who hold important positions in organizations around the world. For example, Beth Brooke, CPA and Global Vice Chair at EY, has once again been named to the Forbes List of 100 Most Powerful Women. Another Accounting alum, Barbara Smith, Senior Vice President and CFO, Commercial Metals Company, has been selected to participate in the 2013 Purdue Old Masters Program.
Our Masters of Science (Accounting) degree features a flexible curriculum with field consulting opportunities with start-ups and non-profits. Students to tailor their coursework to their career goals while becoming CPA-exam ready. MS(A) class of 2013 graduates were placed nationally with Big 4 firms, with regional public accounting firms and with Fortune 1000 companies. Our undergraduate accounting majors and Certificate of Advanced Accountancy students continue to place with Big 4 firms, regional public accounting firms, consulting firms, large and small corporations and not-for-profits across the U.S. While studying at Purdue, accounting students have ample opportunities for professional development and networking through student organizations sponsored by the Accounting Area.
The Accounting Area is also committed to Purdue's mission of creating and disseminating knowledge. Over the last several years, our faculty members and recent Ph.D. graduates have published their research in top academic journals and present it conferences around the world.
