Economic Requirements for Admission to Upper Division
To be admitted to upper division Economics Courses, you MUST either meet the automatic acceptance requirements or be admitted by faculty review. Conditions for each are listed below. Three hundred level and higher School of Management courses (including upper division Economics courses) can be taken only after admission to Upper Division Economics unless approved by the Economics Advisor in advance.

| Courses that MUST be completed prior to admission - BS | Economics Admission Index (EAI) courses for the BS degree*: MA 153, ENGL 106/108, MA 223/161/165, MA 224/162/166, COM 114, ECON 251, and CS 235 |
| Courses that MUST be completed prior to admission - BA | Economics Admission Index (EAI) courses for the BA degree*: ENGL 106/108, MA 153, MA 154, MA 220 or higher level, COM 114, ECON 251, and CS 235 |
| Other Requirements | Must have "C-" or higher in all Econ courses completed as well as all EAI courses*. May not be on Probation. |

| Additional GPA Requirements | Must have "C-" or higher in all Econ courses completed as well as all EAI courses*. May not be on Probation. |
| Other Requirements | The Faculty Review Committee is unlikely to approve admission unless there is convincing evidence that the student will be an asset to the program. A written petition from the student that provides such evidence is expected. |
* There is a limit of one retake per EAI course (for a grade) and three retakes across all EAI courses in meeting the minimum EAI GPA requirement.
** Students who meet these minimum requirements will be reviewed by an Economics faculty committee to determine whether space is available and sufficient cause exists to be admitted to the upper level Economics Division.
