The Daniels School’s Quantitative Methods area bridges the gap between business and data. Through four different programs, students have the opportunity to learn from well-published faculty at the top of the field.

For undergraduate students, the Quantitative Methods area offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Analytics and Information Management. Students pursuing this degree learn to use data and analytics to solve complex business problems. Zhiwei Zhu and Roy Dejoie are the academic directors of our undergraduate program in Business Analytics and Information Management.
Purdue’s Master of Science degree in Business Analytics and Information Management (MSBAIM) teaches cutting-edge data analysis techniques. Through 36 credit hours of rigorous, STEM-focused coursework, students develop skills in applications such as Python, SQL, R, Hadoop, and more, all of which are instrumental to success in the technology-driven field of Quantitative Methods. Matthew Lanham is the academic director of our master’s program in Business Analytics and Information Management.
The online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program guides students through 30 credit hours of coursework in analytical techniques and technical application training. Fully online, the MSBA program gives students the freedom to learn from renowned faculty and complete rigorous curriculum in a remote environment.
The PhD program in Quantitative Methods emphasizes the importance of optimization in today’s highly competitive market. Faculty collaborate with other areas in the Daniels School of Business and the College of Engineering to give students the opportunity to put their learning into practice in areas such as optimization, quality control and auditing, using applied statistical methods including data mining, acceptance sampling and statistical decision theory.
