Ben Shenglin is a professor and tutor of doctoral candidates at Zhejiang University. He previously was Chief Executive Officer of JPMorgan Chase Bank (China) Co. Ltd., was head of J.P. Morgan's Global Corporate Bank ("GCB") in China and a member of the GCB global leadership team.
Before joining J.P. Morgan in April 2010, Dr. Shenglin spent five years with HSBC in China, initially as head of Institutional Banking and then as Managing Director and head of Commercial Banking.
Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions with ABN AMRO between 1994 and 2005 across corporate banking, structured finance, debt capital markets and transaction banking, based in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin) and London.
Dr. Shenglin holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Purdue University, and is also a graduate from Renmin University of China and Tsinghua University, Beijing.
Dr. Shenglin is a member of the 10th Executive Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce (ACFIC), a specialist government agency responsible for the promotion and development of privately-owned enterprises in China. He serves, in an adjunct capacity, on the faculties of leading Chinese universities including Renmin, Tsinghua, Nankai and Sichuan.
