Regional Finance Manager/Controller
General Mills Supply Chain Operations
Steve Creel assumed the Regional Finance Manager/Controller role for General Mills' West Chicago and Milwaukee Supply Chain Operations in August 2012. Previously, he held the same title for the Milwaukee facility only. In this newly formed role, he provides strategic financial direction, accounting/internal control oversight, and risk management for General Mills' Cereal, Snacks, and Packaged Meals platforms. The plants he oversees total 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space, more than 700 employees, and annual production of approximately 70 million cases.
Mr. Creel joined General Mills after earning his MBA from Purdue's Krannert School of Management, and he has also supported both the company's Foodservice Division and Natural/Organic Division. His graduate school internship was with United Technologies' Carrier Air Conditioning, where he benchmarked production and sourcing costs for an engineering platform across three continents, eventually spending part of his summer at the company's European manufacturing facility in Lyon, France.
Prior to General Mills, Mr. Creel worked for General Motors/Allison Transmission in Indianapolis in a variety of operational finance and accounting roles. He earned his bachelor's degree in Management from Krannert and is a Certified Management Accountant.
