Rich Freeland was appointed President – Engine Business of Cummins in March, 2010. He joined Cummins in 1979 as a foreman at the Cummins Parts Distribution Center. He was named Industrial Engineer there in 1981 and General Foreman in 1984.
Mr. Freeland advanced through a series of increasingly responsible positions at Cummins, including Plant Manager of the Diesel ReCon Plant in Memphis, Tennessee; Plant Manager of the Columbus Engine Plant in Columbus, Indiana; Vice President and General Manager of Engine Business Purchasing, Aftermarket and Fuel Systems Business and President of Distribution Business. Most recently, he served as President of Components Group (2008-2010).
Mr. Freeland earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University's Krannert School of Management and an MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. He is a Board member of the National Association of Manufacturers, Cummins Charleston Distributor, Columbus Heritage Fund, and Bartholomew County United Way.
