Director for HR Policy and Practices
Earl Major is the Director for HR Policy and Practices at Humana Inc. He was appointed to this position in September of 2008. Prior to this most recent appointment, Mr. Major was Human Resources Business Leader for Commercial Sales for Humana, a position he held when joining Humana in August of 2007.In his current role, he has responsibility for HR Policy development and implementation, internally and externally, in addition to best practice research on HR programs and practices within and without Humana.
Prior to Humana, Mr. Major spent the bulk of his 20 years of experiences in the pharmaceutical industry, starting his career with Eli Lilly & Co. in the late 1980s. After leaving Lilly, he worked for Pharmacia Corp., and with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals following their acquisition of Pharmacia. He has held both human resources and line management roles during the course of his career.
Mr. Major received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue University. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Purdue. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key National Honor Societies.
