Session on Chinese Names and Culture

Faculty and Staff attended a session to help with pronouncing Chinese names and understanding Chinese culture and attitudes on August 8, led by Wei Hong, director of the Confucius Institute at Purdue.

Hong, who also is professor of applied linguistics, covered pronunciation; cultural factors related to Chinese student behavior, class participation, student attitudes toward helping each other; and subjects raised by questions.
