Krannert On: Winning Your Interview
Krannert on is a new webinar series hosted by Purdue's Krannert School of Management. This session titled "Krannert on: Winning Your Interview" is a free presentation and discussion on being interviewed at 2 p.m. Eastern on July 20. Presenters will be Jill Mullens, assistant director for graduate career services, and Tom McDuffee (BSIM ’73, MSIR ’75).
The session will be informative and helpful for students just beginning their job searches, as well as anyone who may be interviewing for a new career opportunity.
Jill Mullens is a staffing and recruiting specialist with over 10 years of experience organizing, motivating and developing individuals to be successful in a variety of situations. She received her BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Purdue University in 2001. She began her career as a catering event manager, but soon moved into a human resource role. In that position, Jill established an internal temporary staffing database of up to 200 employees supporting catered special events including the Indianapolis 500 and the Allstate 400. In 2006, Jill left her position with Crystal Food Services to pursue her MBA from the Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis. At that time, she transitioned to the financial service industry. Her role involved recruiting high-level financial advisors. She implemented recruitment practices and standards that are emulated by other divisions in the Midwest region. She also landed a staffing and recruiting consultant role with a start up food service organization as a result of her prior experience and reputation. Upon completion of her MBA in 2009, Jill started with Graduate Career Services providing one-on-one counseling/advice to master’s-level business and human resource students on their careers. She assists students in developing their career goals to find the right first job out of Krannert and interview better for the position, coaches students on how they develop their own network in finding jobs, and provides day-to-day assistance in any system issues that they might have with software for students and employers.
