1990s

JILL DAUGHERTY (BS ’91) was promoted to chief audit officer at Caterpillar. She joined Caterpillar as an intern in 1990 and has since held a series of positions with increasing responsibility in accounting and business support, including senior roles in Asia, Europe and the United States. She most recently served as Caterpillar’s corporate controller.

JENNIFER FOODY (BS ’91, MS ’95), Wexford, PA, president/owner of Bottom Line Financial Services, was recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field by Women of Distinction magazine.

ROBERT POSTHAUER (BS ’91) was promoted to the vice president of sales of the combined Haier Co. and GE Appliances team, which has more than 500 employees and revenues of approximately $7 billion. Posthauer was involved extensively with both the transition and the successful sale of GE Appliances to Haier in 2016. He began his career at GE Appliances in 2013 as general manager of sales.

TALYA BAUER (PHD ’94), who holds a dual appointment as a professor of business and psychology at Portland State University, was elected president of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). She is an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Psychology and serves on the editorial boards of SIOP’s Industrial-Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice and Personnel Psychology. She also is the former editor of the Journal of Management

MICHAEL SHULTZ (BS ’97), Cedar Lake, IN, joined BlackLine as the director of finance transformation and product expert.

ANTHONY HASLINGER (MS ’98) was promoted to senior vice president of construction at Phillips Edison & Company (PECO). Haslinger joined PECO in 2013 as a project manager and was promoted in 2014 to vice president of construction. His relationships with local and national retailers, vendors and subcontractors have contributed to the significant economic efficiencies at the company’s properties nationwide.

2000s

BEN PIDGEON (BS ’01), Indianapolis, IN, was named the first executive director of VisionTech Partners and VisionTech Angels. He is a 15-year veteran of the banking industry and current president of the Venture Club of Indiana.

STEFAN TRAEGER (MBA ’01) was appointed chair of the executive board for Jenoptik. Traeger holds has extensive management experience in a variety of executive positions in the photonics industry. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Management Board of the Swiss Tecan Group AG, where manages the global end-customer business combined in the Division Life Sciences.

MICHAEL M. BHASKARAN (EMBA ’02), chief supply chain officer of Staples Inc., has joined the board of directors of Walter Investment Management Corp. Prior to joining Staples in 2015, Bhaskaran served as chief operating officer and chief information officer of Beyondtherack.com, where he was responsible for global logistics, transportation, fulfillment and technology.

JAY WEIKER (EMBA ’04), Pulaski, WI, was named president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) and its subsidiary Certified Semen Services Inc. Prior to joining NAAB in 2014 as vice president, Weiker was based in Australia as the business director for ABS Asia.

MAMON POWERS III (MBA ’05) was appointed to the Indianapolis Airport Authority Board by Mayor Joe Hogsett. Powers grew up in the construction industry and has served in various capacities with Powers & Sons including laborer, carpenter apprentice, estimator, project engineer and project manager. Currently he serves as executive vice president, as well as president of the Indianapolis office.

LISA RILE (EMBA ’06), Purdue’s assistant director of financial affairs, was recognized with the 2017 Dreamer Award for her efforts to make the University more diverse and inclusive. Rile was presented the award as part of Purdue’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in January.

DEREK MAUK (BS’ 09, MBA ’10) was honored by Purdue’s Old Masters program as a 2017 Rising Professional, which recognizes distinguished alumni who not only have shown success in their early careers, but also were involved on campus during their time as a student. Mauk currently serves as senior innovation brand manager for Anheuser Busch. He previously was a senior financial analyst/assistant brand manager for Procter & Gamble.

JEFFREY WILSON (MBA ’09), director of Corporate Audit Services at Eli Lilly and Co., was named to Indianapolis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2017.

2010s

KARAN AHUJA (BS’ 11) was honored by Purdue’s Old Masters program as a 2017 Rising Professional, which recognizes distinguished alumni who not only have shown success in their early careers, but also were involved on campus during their time as a student. Currently attending Harvard Business School, Ahuja previously served as a senior product manager at LinkedIn and a management consultant at McKinsey and Co.

JING SU (BS ’16), Daqing, China, was named a Class of 2018 Schwarzman Scholar. She is the first Boilermaker to join this prestigious international program and one of only 129 students from around the world to be selected. The program develops high-achieving students’ leadership skills and professional networks through a one-year master’s degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where Su will pursue a master’s degree in global affairs with an emphasis in economics and business. She currently works in risk assurance for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
