Doctoral
grad speaks at commencement
Jennifer
Pate Offenberg, PhD ’05, economics, was nominated by the
Purdue University Graduate School and selected by University
officials to be the student responder at August’s summer
commencement.
In her remarks, Offenberg encouraged her fellow graduates to
remember their time at Purdue fondly and to use their education
to make a difference.
“Let us always remember this day as the end of an era
and the first day of the rest of our lives,” Offenberg
said. “Let us all take with us these wonderful Midwestern
values and Purdue sense of community into our new surroundings,
and never forget what these years meant to us and mean for our
future.”
