Purdue Student Union Board to celebrate veterans today

From Purdue Today:

Purdue will honor veterans at a Veterans Day celebration today (Nov. 11).

The Purdue Student Union Board will host the celebration at 11 a.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union Great Hall. The celebration will include "Presentation of the Colors" by the Purdue University Tri-service Color Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance, national anthem and patriotic songs by the Purduettes. A table of remembrance, moment of silence and three memorial volleys will take place at the tribute.

Speakers are:

* Bob Mindrum, director of Purdue Memorial Union, speaking on "Veterans Day and the Union."

* Abby Daniels, captain in the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps, Reserves, and legal services coordinator at Purdue, speaking on "Those Hallmark Moments."

* Rick Wood, major in the Indiana Air National Guard and director of operations, 137th Intelligence Squadron, and Purdue alumnus, speaking on "Honoring Veterans from our Past."

After the ceremony, refreshments will be served in the East Main Lounge. This event is open to the public.
