Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Chicago, IL – Diversity MBA, a national leadership organization integrating diversity and inclusion with talent management, has named Purdue’s Darren Henry to its eleventh annual list of the Top 100 under 50 emerging and executive leaders with advanced degrees.

This recognition represents outstanding achievements in community, leadership and education. The honorees go through a screening process before they are selected by Diversity MBA.

Henry, who earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Purdue in 2002 and a MBA from the School of Management in 2007, is director of Krannert diversity initiatives and the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program (BOP), which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2018.

The group was selected from a broad spectrum of companies with a global reach, said Pam McElvane, CEO and publisher of Diversity MBA Magazine. “This year we selected only 100 from a pool of 312 nominees,” she said. “This award is uniquely special because you can only achieve it once.”

He was nominated for the award by Mandisa Diggs, a global diversity and inclusion consultant for Cisco Systems Inc. who was Henry’s colleague for two years in her former role as an associate director of admissions for Krannert’s professional master’s programs.

“Having worked directly with Darren during my time at Krannert, I saw first-hand his commitment and cutting edge approach to the success of diverse students at Purdue,” said Diggs. “His leadership and forward thinking allowed us to continue collaborating long after I left the Purdue family. BOP students are phenomenal and Darren Henry’s leadership is truly world class!”

The recipients will be honored and receive their official awards at Diversity MBAs 11th Annual Business Leaders Conference & Awards Gala on September 12-14 in Lisle, Illinois. Henry and the other honorees also will be featured in the fall 2017 issue of Diversity MBA Magazine at www.diversitymbamagazine.com.
