What does your job entail?
"After graduating from Krannert, I hired directly into Caterpillar's Marketing Training Program which consists of a three-month introduction to Caterpillar followed by a few years of job-specific training. Once my training was complete, I moved to Florida to work as a Large Contractor Sales Representative, serving as a consultant to two independent Caterpillar dealers. In conjunction with these dealers, it is my job to better understand what makes our customers tick and what we, as a manufacturer, can do to impact their profitability, demonstrate our value, and ultimately improve Caterpillar market share."

Why should a prospective student choose the Krannert School?
"Krannert does a wonderful job of preparing its students for their careers, and recruiters know it! That is why the Krannert School of Management career fairs are always well-attended by a wide variety of high-profile companies."

What was the thing you enjoyed most about your time at Purdue?
"Although Purdue was an intimidating place during the first week of college, I loved that it seemed to shrink every year. I was able to take advantage of so many opportunities and meet so many people that by my senior year, I couldn't turn a corner without running into someone I knew."

What extracurriculars were you involved in, and how did they help prepare you for your career?
"During my time as a student ambassador for the Krannert School, I gained valuable experience while interacting with the prospective students and their families. The extracurricular activity taught me about providing a positive 'customer' experience - a critical part of my role as a Caterpillar sales representative."

How was the teamwork among students at Krannert?
"Teamwork was an enriching part of the Krannert experience; it taught me that there is a time to lead and a time to follow."

What role did the diversity of the student body play in your Krannert experience?
"Interacting with the diverse student body at Krannert helped prepare me for my role in Caterpillar - a very global, very diverse corporation."
