What does your job involve?
"My job entails two primary skill sets: fostering relationships and big-picture policy thinking and analysis. With my legislative affairs responsibilities, it is imperative to be able to communicate effectively with legislators and other key decision makers for state and federal laws, regulations, and initiatives. The policy portion of my position requires me to come up with and evaluate ideas for making Indiana a global leader in innovation and commercialization for food, fuel, and fiber production."

Why should a prospective student choose the Krannert School?
"Krannert provides students with a wealth of opportunity to get involved within the School of Management to truly make Krannert feel like a community. I'd encourage any prospective student to come to Krannert and make the most of those opportunities!"

What was the thing you enjoyed most about your time at Purdue?
"I enjoyed a lot of things. Purdue is a great place. For me, being involved in intramural sports and attending many sporting events really made Purdue feel like home. One of the most fun things I got to do was being one of the original people that had Purdue Pete surfing on them during the basketball games."

What extracurricular were you involved in, and how did they help prepare you for your career?
"My primary extracurricular activity was working with the Krannert Executive Forum for three years. My position hosted breakfasts and lunch with distinguished speakers, administered the class that went along with the Executive Forum, and worked closely with Krannert faculty and staff. This was an incredible opportunity to interact with a wide variety of distinguished speakers, and gave me an opportunity to talk with executives on a wide range of business topics because of the diverse group of speakers to the Executive Forum. Being able to converse on a wide range of business topics is incredibly important to my current position."

What was your favorite class at Krannert, and why?
"I really enjoyed the class that went along with the Krannert Executive Forum. It was an incredible opportunity to see a wealth of different career paths and learn from those who have been successful in their careers."

Who is the person, in the business world or otherwise, that you most admire, and why?
"My parents. They have the right priorities and are people of strong principle."
