Marketing curriculum

A student in Krannert may pursue a major in Marketing or a concentration in Marketing.


Students majoring in marketing will need to complete a total of 120 credit hours and successfully complete five three-credit courses in marketing. The marketing area offers seven elective courses: brand management, digital & social media marketing, experiential marketing, international marketing, marketing analytics, marketing planning and research, and new product development.

The marketing area allows students to substitute one of the seven marketing courses with either the Principles of Selling Agricultural Business offered by the Agricultural Economics Department or the Introduction to Advertising offered by the Brian Lamb School of Communication. The Ag course in personal selling prepares marketing students for positions in sales management. The Com course prepares marketing students for brand management or advertising management positions.

The marketing major prepares students for positions in brand management, product management, sales management, marketing analytics and research, and social marketing.


In addition to your major, you may choose to add a concentration to your degree, which is similar to a minor. You can still graduate in four years, and you’ll expand your career options. Students may also pair a Krannert degree with a minor from another college at Purdue.
