Uma worked as an investment banker with India’s largest bank for nearly 7 years, providing transaction services to clients in a wide range of industries. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Studies from the University of Mumbai and a Master’s of Science in Management from the Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad in 2010.
Yash graduated from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) University, Mumbai, in 2014 with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunications and an MBA in Technology Management and Finance. After graduation, he joined Siemens Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. (SFSPL) as a sales executive, where he generated more than $3 million in annual sales revenue and conducted credit and market risk assessment of the projects being funded. It was here that he was first exposed to the importance of data analytics in driving business strategy, processes and decisions. Yash’s data-mining and analysis efforts at SFSPL led to his division revamping their targeting strategy, which this translated into a significant rise in revenue and a drop in turnaround time.
Snigdha graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India, in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Instrumentation. During her final year, she had the opportunity to intern with Worley Parsons Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, where she worked on cost and development analysis for plant planning. She discovered how data and engineering knowledge can be combined to make decisions of great impact. This first stint with data driven decisions prompted her to seek a career in a field that makes use of data and analytics in a business setting instead of a core engineering setting.
Xiangyi (Sherry) Che
Xiangyi (Sherry) Che received her bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then joined the Coca Cola Company in China as a Financial Analyst. During her time at Coca Cola, she gained experience with the full accounting cycle, performed financial modelling and analyzing on cross-functional projects to strengthen internal controls and developed an integrative business plan. She also utilized the value of financial data in driving decision making and improving the company’s bottom line results.
Anand is an ambitious data scientist who seeks to find himself at the forefront of a fast-evolving field. With three years of professional experience in business intelligence, he has developed the critical art of problem-solving. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
Adarsh received his integrated Master’s degree in Geophysical Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in 2017. Later, as a Sales and Marketing Manager at Precision Steel Tube Manufacturing Co., he managed the sales, marketing and procurement for the company.
Surya Gundavarapu graduated from Purdue University in 2017 with Bachelor’s degrees in Supply Chain, Information Analytics, Economics and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. During the coursework, he had the unique opportunity to work on several case competitions and academic projects that put his vibrant skillset to test across industries and disciplines. His first taste of the corporate world occurred during his internship at MoboTap Inc.
Doug graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017 with a degree in business economics. During his undergraduate studies, Doug attended the Latin American University of Science and Technology in Costa Rica for a semester abroad, where he studied international business and relations. While an undergrad he used statistical modeling to create a predictive model for countries’ trade deficits given certain international and domestic factors, which was later published in a student research journal. The summer before his senior year, Doug interned at AutoZone Inc., where he worked in both the finance and risk management departments.
Alex graduated from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 2013 with a degree in Economics. His college work focused on econometrics and political economy with a strong emphasis on time series analysis, nonlinear regression, and multivariate models. His fascination with marketing analytics developed during his college internships at Eastman Kodak (China) and Cytec Industries (Belgium) where as a marketing analyst he was able to leverage his statistical and business knowledge to efficiently forecast key market expansions across different markets and geographies.
Yuwen graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in business. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in several analytical projects in different functions of business, such as information systems design, demand forecast and production plan. Jou-Tzu (Rose) Kao
Jou-Tzu Kao graduated from the Soochow University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2014. After graduation, she started her career as a teaching assistant at Soochow University. During this time, she taught courses such as calculus, financial management and statistics.
Meena graduated from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University in India in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication. She then started her professional tenure with CSC (now known as DXC Technology) and worked as an Associate Product Developer for almost 3 years during which she developed an interest in the field of business analytics and management of advanced information systems.
Sanchit has a degree in Material Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Post-graduation, he started working with Flipkart, an Ecommerce unicorn of India, as a graduate trainee. As part of Flipkart’s supply chain division, Sanchit worked on various projects ranging from capacity planning, efficiency enhancements and layout designing as well as managing operations during big sale events. He was also a part of the category retail team for a span of 6 months where he worked on selection refining and seller operations. After a 2-year stint in the Ecommerce domain, he joined a political consulting firm whose client was the largest political party of the country. While at Association of Billion Minds he worked on voter profiling and its impact on the campaign strategy. Later, he worked on determining the political mood of the public and translating it into specific campaign strategy insights.
Taeyong finished his MBA program at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, with emphases in analytics and strategy. He completed his undergraduate education in applied statistics from Yonsei University, one of the top universities in South Korea. He has more than four years of professional experience in the financial services, retail, and technology industries.
After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, Shreyas went on to work for Deloitte in their Risk Advisory service line. During his undergraduate and graduate coursework, Shreyas majored in accountancy, economics, taxation and strategic management. As a risk consultant with Deloitte, Shreyas worked with multiple clients across various industries such as manufacturing, hospitality, service, chemical and financial services.
Shubhda graduated from National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Haryana in India in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Technology. She majored in Food Technology and minored in General Management. She was among the merit scholars in her cohort and was attended the student exchange program at University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Saurabh has 4 years of work experience in Business Analytics. A national chess player, Saurabh received his degree in Civil Engineering from NIT Nagpur, one of the top Engineering colleges in India. Saurabh has worked with two of the most valuable tech companies, and has been shaped by the fast-paced startup culture. He was a Senior Business Analyst with Ola Cabs, where he led the Analytics division of one of India’s Tier 1 cities. He was critical in overhauling the system and introduced a culture of making data driven decisions. Earlier, Saurabh worked with Mu Sigma as a Decision Scientist, and used Analytics to solve a multitude of problems for his client, The Home Depot, ranging from Financial Services, Supply Chain Management, and Credit Services.
Rong (Alice) Liao
Rong Liao obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014. She worked as a risk consultant in KPMG HK for over 2 years, mainly handling investigations into the facts pertaining to suspected fraud cases emerged. The focus of her work was on the examination of common corruption practices and regulations in a given industry, the internal policy and code of conduct of the companies, and a meticulous fact-finding process to identify suspicious dealings such as connected transactions and misappropriation of funds.
Shan double-majored in Foreign Languages and Literature/Library and Information Science at the National Taiwan University. While in college, she worked on a project that proposed how libraries should apply data science methods for marketing efforts. Thus, she later planned to pursue advanced analytics knowledge.
Manya received her bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) University in 2015, graduating in the top 1% of the class. Shortly after graduation, she joined a global management-consulting firm ZS Associates as a business technology analyst. At ZS, she developed and deployed the business intelligence solutions (data modeling, ETL and reporting) for Fortune 500 clients in the US healthcare industry and analyzed patient lifecycles using tools such as Teradata, SQL, SAS, R, Informatica, Excel.
Rishabh graduated from Panjab University, Chandigarh with a bachelor degree in pharmaceutical Sciences. Industry exposure from various internships enabled him to understand process development, applied statistics, scale-up logistics, and quality control techniques that are organic to real world business establishments. Diverse experiences played a crucial role for him in receiving an offer to pursue a Ph.D. with a full scholarship at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, focusing on cancer research.

Chaitnay graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering degree in Electrical from the RV College of Engineering in India. At Mu Sigma, he worked with a team that helped a US based Pharmaceutical giant make better marketing decisions by making sense of data.

Joseph Tsai graduated from National Taiwan University with a bachelor’s degree in Bio-Industry Communications and Development, a program which emphasizes digital communications and strategic marketing. After graduation, Joseph served as a disaster data analyst in Taipei’s Fire Department, and worked as an international sales consultant for Pacific Hospital Supply, the largest disposable medical device company in Taiwan.
Madhurima graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Tele-Communications from Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Immediately after graduation, she joined Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. as an Advisory Analyst, where she worked with the Internal Audit (Controls Testing) team. Shenyang Yang received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China in 2014. During her study at Texas A&M Shenyang had her first experience in business while working as the cofounder of a startup, Unifitness Inc.. After graduating from Texas A&M, Shenyang worked as an intern consultant for Autospace Roland Berger in Shanghai, China.
Xueying (Alicia) Yang
Xueying graduated from the College of Health and Human Science at Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management in May 2016. After graduation, she continued to complete her 1-year food and beverage Practical Training Program at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jingda graduated from Wake Forest University with a master’s degree in communication. She conducted research on how hurtful events influence the way people communicate with their partners, and built regression models to identify behavioral patterns. During her internship as a marketing analyst at MullenLowe, she conducted consumer analytics, web analytics and digital campaign optimization.
Siyu obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed an internship with China Minsheng Bank as an Assistant Financial Manager in 2014 and has also worked for University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health as mailroom assistant from 2015 to 2017.
