Excellence at Scale

More top students. Increased faculty size. A prestigious facility. All are vital parts of scaling innovation and taking our next giant leap in business education to become a top-10 business school.

Building upon Purdue’s mission as a land-grant university to provide affordable and accessible education, we will increase our student enrollment to develop more future visionary leaders, placing graduates at best-in-class corporations or preparing them to found their own company.

We will:

  • Increase undergraduate enrollment by 60% to 4,000 business majors
  • More than double the size of our graduate programs
  • Boost access to non-business majors to allow Purdue students to gain business acumen through a business minor, sharply raising their earning power

We will build our faculty ranks accordingly, both to meet student demand but also to help push the boundaries of business knowledge. We’re looking for leading-edge experts, faculty who are masters of their current fields but also able to see and steer toward what’s next.

Draft rendering of a new building

Students, faculty, and industry partners will collaborate in a new state-of-the-art building that fits our forward-looking culture and promotes active learning and design thinking. The flexible space will be a bold statement of who we are and what we want to be.

“Purdue will have a world-class business school through this relaunch, one that will carry out top-caliber research and educate many students who will be excellent at and proud of creating business growth and opportunities.”
– Purdue University President Mung Chiang

Our new Daniels School of Business will build upon our reputation for faculty excellence.

In order to recruit and retain top talent who define areas of academic inquiry, we’ll need to increase the number of named chairs for established standouts as well as rising star awards for those early in their academic careers. To ensure that standards in the classroom remain high, we’ll increase the number of teaching awards to recognize outstanding performers.

Businesses need to use analytics to stay relevant. Our faculty will provide the questions and answers companies need to stay at the forefront, and our students will join those organizations ready and confident to provide business value and make those crucial data-driven decisions.

A business school for risk-takers, instigators, integrators, Boilermakers
