Background: Scooty is a brand targeted at young girls – students and first jobbers. It aims to be a fashion statement and a lifestyle accessory. To keep up with the consumer tastes, we need to understand what are the latest trends amongst the segment relating to movies, fashion, music, language etc.
Project: Optimsie logistics for outbound

Background: Dealer order level is at 80 - 85% due to non availability of right SKU at various warehouse. Reasons for non availability can be production variation between plants, warehouse space, billing skewners & transportation capacity in primary & secondary during seasons & month ends.

Background: Current production planning is done on a monthly basis wrt sales plan (We prepare a policy plan for the year and we make one month firm plan and two months tentative plan every month). This causes fluctuation in production plan aggregate varies from 5% to 20% and within model 20% to 50%. As a result not meeting the delivery plan for sales ending up with either loss of sales or high Finished good / Raw material inventory Effects:In house readiness for Volume fluctuation, Manpower planning, Availability of trained manpower, Suppliers readiness for dynamic volume changes, Raw material planning, Capacity planning.
Project: Develop cost based decision support system for new product design

Background: Currently we are producing 7 brands of vehicles in 42 SKUs (162 with colours). For these, we are having more than 5543 parts and more than 150 suppliers. This complexity is leading to increased cost and reduce service levels both by suppliers to spares and OE. Also we are introducing new products every year. Our overall service level to OE has been at 90% and service level has been 60%. This is causing reduction in Customer satisfaction.
Project: Develop insights for new business (electric vehicles)
Students: Yisha Wang & Malina Vasile
Background: TVS is setting up a separate business unit for electric vehicles in India. The sourcing will be CKD units from China and the market is across India. Approach to these markets could be sequential and not simultaneous. Targetted at the bottom of the pyramid where value delivery is important and involves large volumes. Costs have to be kept at a minimum.
