Graduate 1st place: Gourav Singhal

Gourav is ITIL V3 & BCS ISEB Business Analyst certified result driven professional with 4.5 year of experience in business analysis & operations management across various domains. Gourav started off his career as Business Analyst in Accenture Services based out of Pune(India) for three & half years serving clients mainly in Singapore & UK. Thereafter, he Co-founded a company called - a youth traveler platform only for 18-35 Age people. He worked there for 8 Months & then after his entrepreneurial stint, he joined an another 2016 Forbes Most promising startup as City Manager, Pune. He piloted Opinio’s operation from scratch in Pune.

Akarsh is currently pursuing his dual degree program in Global Supply Chain Management from Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur and Krannert School of Management. Prior to joining his MBA, he has professional work experience in the domains of production and Sales in a world’s leading Commercial Automotive Company, Ashok Leyland Ltd. As part of his program, Akarsh did his summer internship at Cargill, developing freight optimization techniques for the edible oil division.

In his free time, Akarsh enjoys running, playing cricket and travelling.

Graduate 3rd place: Amy Wong

Amy Wong is a combined degree student. She just graduated with her BS in Accounting and Management in May 2016 and will be finishing her MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources in December 2016. She is known as someone who is energetic, hardworking, and someone who delivers. She has had opportunities to experience internships in Diversity & Inclusion (USAA), Global Compensation (Oshkosh Corporation), and Mergers and Acquisitions (Dell Inc.). She also loves giving back to Purdue by leading the Society for Human Resource Management as Chapter President, preparing 1st year master students for their internships as the Executive Director of Career Development in the Krannert Graduate Student Association, and as a helping hand assisting with recruiting events for the master programs.  Amy also enjoys baking, running, and going to zoos.

Undergraduate 1st place: Alekhya Surepeddi

She has worked with and for a variety of organizations such as Dress for Success San Jose and Breakthrough Silicon Valley. She loves working with children and has done so for the past 5 years as a math tutor. She has experience in marketing, advertising, human-centered design thinking, community outreach, teaching, and youth entrepreneurship.

Arpit is an experienced professional with more than four years of experience in service operations which included working together with functional teams/professionals at Accenture during his career in order to provide SAP Business Warehouse relevant solutions to the clients. During his tenure at Accenture & KPMG, he has acquired knowledge of Finance, Sales, Procurement, Advanced Planning Optimization, Business Planning & Consolidation and other modules and have used them in order to provide better and fast results. This has helped him to move from a technical professional to cross-functional with more confidence, less dependability and better knowledge of business functional aspects.

During his summer internship, he had an opportunity to work with Siemens Ltd where he was involved with Export-Import operations of the company. This included building strategy on future usage of Free Trade Agreements while carrying out imports of specific products from specific country. In addition, he had opportunity to understand the working of Freight Forwarders, Custom House Agents and the other crucial elements involved in Logistics of International Export-Import. Also, Arpit has acquired an understanding of the Inco-terms (commercial contract terms) used at the International level and their importance from perspective of buyer and seller which helped him to recommend changes by analysing trends in historical data.

Anuj Bhatia

Anuj has good interest in operations and strategy consulting area. His professional and academic career has helped him to gain strong analytical skills, an entrepreneurial attitude and sharp intellectual curiosity. He has strong command of statistical tools such as R, Minitab and Microsoft Data Mining (DMX query) tools to utilize analytical concepts like Regression, ANOVA and various data mining techniques; hands-on experience in SQL, advanced Excel and VB6 scripting. During his academic career, he has been focussed in analytical area and has shown consultant traits in his project work. He learnt to anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, prioritize and execute projects, ensure quality, and drive bottom line results. He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified by KPMG and is currently working as a freelancer consultant in a process improvement project. He has worked as an Oracle Commerce consultant in his professional career and has delivered efficient IT solutions for various E-Commerce clients such as AT&T, USCC etc. He has cross cultural experience working with cross functional teams of San Francisco, France, Egypt & India across multinational and start-up organizations.
