2013 Case Competition - Graduate Assistants

Isra Gadri -MS 2013

Isra Gadri is studying Global Supply Chain Management at Krannert School of Management (Graduate Class 2013). She received her undergraduate degree in 2012 from New Mexico State University with a double major in International Business and Marketing. Her experiences have extended beyond the work place, which involves being an Ambassador for The College of Business to contribute to the long term success of the college. Also, She has taken on the position of the Vice President for a club to help achieve their goals and assist student’s on an educational and career level. She took part in the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, which resulted in creating a Business Ethics Club to increase awareness of the importance of ethical decisions and how to better strategize situations in unethical circumstances. Finally, since her interest is Supply Chain, she conducted research for the El Paso Federal Reserve Bank, to analyze the effect of the economy on the Transportation and Warehousing Industry, how are they recovering, and what are the difficulties they are facing from an economic view point. 

Russel Isaac -MBA 2014

Russel is a 1st year MBA student focusing in Operations and Strategy. He has 11 years of experience as an operations manager with a startup disabilities services company in the Purdue Research Park. Leveraging his background in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and his distinction as a Library of Congress Certified Braille Transcriber, he helped develop a Braille production process that increased operational efficiency 500%. Most importantly, blind students were able to receive textbooks and class materials in under 1 month rather than the industry standard 6+ months. Russ currently serves as the Vice President of the Krannert Operations Club and will intern this summer as a Supply Chain Analyst with Cummins Turbo Technologies.

Dawei Hou -BSIM 2013

I grew up in Beijing, China. My major is Industrial Management, and minor is Operations Management. I am really interested in imports and exports operations.

Jing Lu -MS 2013

Jing Lu is currently a MSA (accounting) student at Krannert school of Management, Purdue University and graduating this May. Before getting her master, she spent three years and received her B.S. from Krannert as well, with double major in accounting and management, concentration in finance. She is on the way of perusing her CPA and currently working as teaching assistant for financial management and international financial market courses at Purdue. 

Matthew Larson -BS 2014

After completing his B.S. Industrial Management degree from Krannert, Matt was accepted into the 3+2 Accelerated Degree Program. Through working as an intern at Ingersoll Rand, John Deere, and Roche Diagnostics (summer 2013), Matt has gained valuable skills in the Supply Chain and Operations field as well as experience leading cross functional teams in Six Sigma projects. In his free time, Matt enjoys playing golf and basketball as well as stock trading. 

Mark Shelton -MBA 2014

Mark is an MBA student focusing on Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he worked at an engineering consulting firm. Immediately after this semester he will be traveling to Bangalore, India for a Supply Chain Internship at TVS Motors. Upon returning to the U.S. Mark will be working for Finish Line Inc. in Indianapolis. 

Nolan Sanders -BSM 2013

I am a senior from Kokomo, Indiana studying management and concentrating in marketing and strategic management. I am a proud Boilermaker and hope to use my education and knowledge gained at Purdue and apply it to a full-time marketing position after graduation. 

Mark Urban -BSE 2015

Mark Urban is 20 years old and a sophomore at Purdue. This semester (spring semester) is my first here at Purdue University, I attended Purdue North Central my first three semesters. I have always had a strong interest in music, technology, and above all money. Figuring out how to make and save money is something of an adrenaline rush for me.

My name is Tiara Varner and I am from Peoria, Illinois. I am a senior in Industrial Management with a minor in Industrial Engineering.

Saurabh Vijayvergia -MBA 2013

With 5+ years of professional work experience and 4 years of international consulting experience, Saurabh is seeking a full time job in the Operations/Supply Chain Management domain. Currently, he is in the 2nd year of MBA at Purdue University, concentrating in Operations and Supply Chain Management. He believes what distinguishes him as a professional is his business analysis capabilities, leadership skills, and his past experience with multinational clients. Saurabh is also a Six Sigma Green belt certified professional, which provides him with all the necessary tools required for process improvement activities. 

Derrek White -BSM 2013

Senior with a double major in Management and Aviation Management with a minor in operations and air traffic control. I will be working for Amazon after I graduate this May.
