The Center hosts an annual case competition in which students are challenged to use their skills to generate solutions for a real-world business issue involving gender diversity. The goal of the competition is to generate important dialogue and learning among future men and women leaders.
In 2018, over 70 students registered for the competition. Each team of 4 to 5 students prepared a 12-minute presentation with their recommendations. Judges, selected from the business community and from Purdue faculty, awarded prizes to the first, second and third place teams and to three students recognized as “outstanding presenters.”
“Participating in the PowerShift Case Competition really opened my eyes to these gender norms so when I approach my career, I’ll take those ideas with me. It’s very empowering hearing about these women that we studied and examples where they succeeded.” – PowerShift Team Member
