Education

University of Chicago, Ph.D.

Justin Tobias is Professor of Economics at Purdue University. His research and teaching interests are in econometrics, specifically the theory and application of Bayesian econometric methods.

Professor Tobias is a Distinguished Author of the Journal of Applied Econometrics and Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics and Journal of Applied Econometrics. He is also a co-author of the textbook Bayesian Econometric Methods  (with Dale J. Poirier and Gary Koop) and has previously held tenured positions at Iowa State University and the University of California-Irvine.
