Melissa Evens serves as the Director of the Undergraduate Leadership Communication Studio (LCS) and Undergraduate Scholarships at the Krannert School of Management.

The LCS in collaboration with stakeholders has a mission to equip students with the tools for successful and professional development, through signature learning opportunities, outside of the classroom. Evens is responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and executing case competitions and other experiential learning activities. 

Evens also supports innovation, data driven-decision making and she manages the undergraduate scholarship portfolio. Clubs and student organizations invite Evens to present interactive workshops focused on enhancing soft skills and enriching conversations. Evens celebrates students and contributes website stories/content to showcase student engagement and learning. At Krannert, Evens is currently building communication frameworks to connect Krannert undergraduates to research opportunities and learning.

Ms. Evens is a Purdue Alum with a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship through the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with New York University, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and the University of North Texas. In addition, she holds a corporate protocol and international protocol certificate from the Protocol School of Washington. Ms. Evens has a Bachelor of Science from the College of Health and Human Sciences and a Master of Science in Communication from the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue. 

She is a trained student success coach with her training from LifeBound in Colorado and a trained facilitator with a certificate from the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program based out of the Kauffman Foundation. 

Passionate about creating value and making a positive difference. Evens is a board member of Water for Good, a nonprofit organization building water wells in the Central African Republic and a member of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Other selected community activities include: Master Gardeners of Tippecanoe County, National FFA, 4-H Youth Organization programs, and is a member of Grant's House Think Tank. Grant's House is an innovative educational and social facility for young people with disabilities.

    Student summer interns wanted for safe campus project

    ProjectX Safe Campus is a virtual five-week consulting internship that will allow student teams to work on solutions to make for a meaningful and safe on-campus experience. Students from across campus are eligible to sign up as individuals or in teams of two to four students, with a recommendation that at least one team participant is earning a major or minor from the Krannert School of Management. Deadline to sign-up is June 4th.
