Dr. Yang Wang is the Associate Department Head of Management in Teaching and Programs and a clinical assistant professor in the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. Previously, she was the co-Academic Director of the MS BAIM (Business Analytics & Information Management) program and the Academic Director of the Online B.A. (Business Analytics) program. Dr. Wang was also the Chair of MS BAIM Advisory Committee.
Since joining Krannert in 2017, Dr. Wang has taught various courses at both undergraduate and masters’ levels, such as Management Information Systems, Database Management, Management of Organizational Data, Python Programming, and Industry Practicums. With her teaching excellence, she was the recipient of multiple Krannert Outstanding and Distinguished Teacher Awards. In 2019, Dr. Wang received the Summer Teaching Innovation Award. In 2022, she was awarded a Krannert Business Ethics Education and Research Grant for the academic year 2022 — 2023. Dr. Wang's research on social media appeared in top business journals such as Production and Operations Management. Her paper received the Best Paper Award in the 11th China Summer Workshop on Information Management.
Before joining Krannert, Dr. Wang obtained her Ph.D. in MIS in 2017 from the University of Arizona and M.S. in Economics in 2011 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
