Taxation in America and across the globe is complex, and frequently gives rise to surprising effects and results. Is inefficient taxation good?
Dr. Gallen will discuss several phenomena in the sometimes counterintuitive world of taxation. He will touch on how taxation in the U.S. is more progressive than in France, how inheritances may reduce proportional inequality, how some corporate taxes fall on
workers more than capital owners, and why liberals might want to fight for a flatter tax system, while libertarians might push for more inefficient taxes.
