Nick RagoSenior Digital Producer
After graduating from Purdue University in 2014 with an undergraduate degree in business management, Nick started his career working at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, CT as a production assistant in the Digital Media department. He joined the SportsCenter social media team and began learning the ins and outs of a rapidly evolving industry. Nick served as the graphics producer and writer on “Colin’s Football Show” with Colin Cowherd, which aired on Sunday mornings on ESPN2. In January of 2015, Nick was tabbed to lead a new social content and sales strategy for ESPN’s flagship morning show “Mike & Mike”. In his year with the show, he generated $500,000 of revenue and over a million new social followers.
In Spring 2016, at the age of 24, Nick became the youngest associate producer in ESPN’s 37-year history. In this role, he focused on bringing ESPN content to younger, more diverse audiences. He hit the road with one of the company’s premier programs, “College GameDay,” to produce Snapchat’s first ever out-of-house show. Nick won a Sports Emmy Award as an associate producer on “College GameDay”, bringing cartoons and other digital-inspired segments to the traveling college football pregame show. Nick closed his time at ESPN by producing “Everest: No Filter”, a Snapchat show turned documentary that aired on ESPN and ABC.
In July 2017, he departed ESPN for FOX Sports in Los Angeles, where he was tasked with revamping FOX’s NFL social and digital team. After a successful football campaign that saw Instagram engagement grow by over 4,000%, Nick added the company’s MLB and Soccer social teams to his portfolio. He now oversees a team of 8 social media producers and editors that cover the biggest events in sports – including the World Series, FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl.
