Ms. Magner is a founding member and Partner of Brysam Global Partners, a specialized private equity firm that invests in financial services with a focus on consumer opportunities in the emerging markets and the U.S. Ms. Magner has over 30 years of operating and deal experience in the consumer financial services sector.
Prior to the formation of Brysam in 2006, Ms. Magner served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Consumer Group at Citigroup. In this position, she was responsible for the company’s operations serving customers through retail banking, credit cards and consumer finance. Ms. Magner was named to the Fortune magazine list of Most Powerful Women in Business from 2001-2004, Forbes magazine list of World’s Most Powerful Women, and U.S. Banker’s list of the Most Powerful Women in Banking as well as U.S. Banker’s list of the Top 25 Non-Bank Most Powerful Women in Finance. In June 2014 she was nominated and won the NYSE Governance Services Inaugural Leadership Award for a Non-Executive Chairman.
Currently, Ms. Magner serves as Chairman of the Board of TEGNA, as well as lead director of Accenture, and as a director of Ally Financial Inc. She also serves as a trustee for the Brooklyn College Foundation as well as a board member at the Museum of American Finance.
Ms. Magner is a passionate advocate on issues affecting women and youth globally. She champions issues such as education, global poverty and microfinance bringing a more integrated, innovate business approach to the philanthropic world.
Ms. Magner holds a B.S. degree in psychology from Brooklyn College and an MSIA degree from the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University.
