The Global Business Project (GBP) is a unique experiential learning course connecting a team of first and second year MBA students at Purdue University’s Krannert school of Management, with a sponsoring firm to work on a business challenge being faced by the firm outside of the United States. MBAs from multiple business, cultural, and university environments work with with corporate executives to solve a business challenge. The student teams have support from the host corporation and the resources of Purdue University including a faculty advisor,  access to secondary data worth millions of dollars, and subject matter experts.  Teams work both virtually and on the ground in countries such as Brazil, China, or India.  The students in a GBP team are not paid for their service; they are participating in a graded academic, action – based learning experience, guided by a faculty member chosen specifically for a project because of fit with the project scope.
