New online course gives master’s students an executive-level perspective

Online MBA and master’s students aspiring to a career at the executive level will be getting a preview of the role in a new, graduate level one-credit course titled “Life in the C-Suite” that will make its debut in fall 2022. The course methodology consists of 30- to 45-minute interviews with C-Suite executives on a specific topic. Interviews are conducted via Zoom by the course instructors and will be followed by class discussions and corresponding assignments. More

Purdue economics center provides empirical research on policy issues

In service of its mission to share good data and information with decision makers, the Krannert School’s Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) again presented research findings at the Indiana Statehouse. Committee members, elected officials, state department employees and other interested parties were invited to sessions on resignations, retirements, and the labor shortage; bullying in schools; and cryptocurrencies and the future of money. Krannert initiative aims to increase enrollment among military students

The School of Management has formed the Krannert Military Association to create an armed services-friendly environment and recruit new undergraduate, graduate, and domestic students to its residential and online degree programs. The mission is increased student connection, more professional development opportunities, the creation of a military community, and more engagement opportunities. More 

Voice of the Boilermakers Tim Newton named Indiana Sportscaster of the Year

Tim Newton, the voice of Purdue Football and Purdue Women's Basketball, has been named the 2021 Indiana Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). As the top sportscaster in the state, Newton becomes the first Purdue broadcaster to earn the award since Joe McConnell in 2000. He currently serves as director of external relations and communications at the Krannert School. More 

Krannert faculty earn recognition from Poets & Quants

Two faculty members from the Krannert School of Management have recently been recognized by Poets & Quants as being among the top 50 best undergraduate professors. Amy David, a clinical associate professor of management, was recognized in 2020. Cara Putman, a clinical assistant professor of management and director of the Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Management, is featured among the 2021 honorees. More

Purdue HR degree adds flexibility, experiential opportunities with greater affordability

The residential master’s degree offering for human resource management at Purdue University is undergoing a transformation to both increase its experiential opportunities and its accessibility to students. More experienced students may complete the degree in two semesters, while students in the earlier stages of their careers may complete the requirements in three semesters, including a summer internship and human capital consulting project. Krannert’s marketing team recognized by American Advertising Federation

The Krannert School of Management’s marketing and recruitment efforts have been recognized by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which honored the school with eight North Central Indiana region 2022 awards. “Our seven submissions, each of which won an award, showcase the breadth of our work. Projects ranged from videos to elevator wraps to an extraordinary brochure that won the top two awards,” says Executive Director of Krannert Marketing and Communications Sue Doron. More

Conference speakers share insights on managing supply chain disruptions

A wide range of unexpected events, from a worldwide pandemic to a warehouse fire, can potentially disrupt a supply chain, making temporary solutions inevitable. Short-term measures, such as assisting suppliers during a labor crunch, are often necessary to keep supply chains moving. Those and other topics were covered by speakers at the 2022 spring conference of the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative in the Krannert School of Management. More

Krannert economics PhD student wins international prize

The editors of The Econometrics Journal have awarded the 2021 Denis Sargan Econometrics Prize to Xuewen Yu of Purdue University for his article "Generalized forecast averaging in autoregressions with a near unit root" with Mohitosh Kejriwal in the January 2021 issue. The prize-winning article develops a new approach to the important problem of forecasting a highly persistent time series. More

Krannert professor ranks first in finance research citations

A recent paper from researchers at the University of Oxford and the University of Technology Sydney has ranked Krannert professor Mara Faccio, Duke Realty Chair in Finance, as the No. 1 cited female scientist in academic finance. The study showed that Faccio authored or co-authored 25 papers in 2019 that were cited by 1,332 other publications, ranking her as the most productive scholar in her field. More
