Kevin O’Toole is the Vice President, Business Intelligence for the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), Cleveland Monsters (AHL), Charge (G League), Cavs Legion Gaming Club (2KL) and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse under the Rock Entertainment Group umbrella. O’Toole leads a Business Intelligence group (BIG) that specializes in analytics, customer data management, organizational process improvement and consumer research to help drive revenue, innovation and decision making across the organization.
O’Toole joined the Cavaliers in 2010 after spending over a decade in the financial service industry with Capital One and PNC Bank. Bringing an analytical approach refined from his time in financial service, O’Toole helped lead an effort to introduce data driven strategies and create the Cavs Business Intelligence Group, known as BIG, one of the first-of-its-kind in professional sports. Today, Cavs BIG is known across the NBA as the standard bearer for insights and analytics in sports business.
In his role, O’Toole also serves on the Rock Entertainment Group (REG) executive committee, helping to lead the organization through business matters such as strategic planning, oversight on operational decisions and guidance on the future trajectory of the various sports, venues, music, and content properties under the REG platform.
Very active as a community, civic and industry leader, O’Toole currently serves on the Irish American Archives Society Board of Trustees, the TicketSwift Board of Directors and is a founding member of the NBA’s Business Analytics Council and the Cleveland Sports Commission’s Community Development board.
O’Toole earned his undergrad in civil engineering from Widener University and his Master of Science in management from Purdue University. He is married to his wife, Carol, and they have two daughters, Colleen and Erin.
