Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

The purpose of this Chapter is to provide Purdue University students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight into the effective management of human capital in the field of Human Resource Management through affiliation with the National SHRM organization.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at Krannert was created to bring together students and staff with a career interest in Human Resource Management. It is a student chapter of the nationally recognized, professional organization SHRM. The club is intended to expose students to the various facets of HR and provide a forum in which students can discuss current issues and apply elements of their Krannert education to practical situations. The focus of this organization is on professional development, but we always strive to remain active in our community and on campus, and to have fun in the process!

SHRM is the world’s largest HR professional society, representing 285,000 members in more than 165 countries. For nearly seven decades, the Society has been the leading provider of resources serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the practice of human resource management. SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates. More Information Available at
