Atlanta Trek

Day 1: Students visited IBM Corporation, learning about technology trends and big data. Dean Earley joined the group for a tour of the security operations and interacted with a panel of leaders. Next was a visit to Equifax with CEO Rick Smith’s (BSM 1981) team who welcomed the group and provided an overview of the company and the need for big data talent. Day 2: Students traveled south to visit Chick-Fil-A where they had a VIP tour and lunch with the Senior Consultant Acquisition. After they visited Cumulus to hear about their operations from the CFO. Students enjoyed a tour of CNN Studios before joining the Dean’s alumni reception with remarks from alumna Jody Russell Banks (BS 1993/MBA 2003).Group photo at Chick-Fil-A

Day 3: Students visited UPS where they toured the company archives and had extensive discussion with a panel of functional leaders from Purdue. Next was Newell Rubbermaid where students toured their extensive product displays and testing areas. The Vice President of Global Procurement shared his experience and more about the company. Students enjoyed soul food and jazz music during an evening out.Group photo at UPS

Day 4: Students visited UCB Pharma where they heard again from Jody Russell Banks and her colleagues about product management and sales. Following, they took a trip south to the College Park Coca-Cola bottling plant and then on to the downtown headquarters. Students received a warm welcome by numerous Purdue alumni from a variety of functions and enjoyed a networking reception.Group photo at Coca-Cola
