Why did you choose the Krannert School of Management and Purdue University?
I chose Krannert and Purdue mainly because it was the best school that had close links to the automotive industry in the region. I also loved the campus and the rich history of Purdue.

Describe some of the people, courses, or experiences at Krannert that led to your success.
The best courses I had are the courses with professors that challenged me the most. After taking a course with Professor McConnell, I knew I had to take more courses with him to challenge myself and get the most out of my education. I talked with him and decided to do an independent study on Real Estate Finance. The independently study taught me more than most courses and helped me to tackle problems independently.

When you think about Krannert and Purdue, what are the things that make it meaningful to you?
The most meaningful experiences are the relationships that you build at Krannert. Working closely in the classroom and on case competitions, you build lasting relationships and mentors that make an impact on things you do every day. As I continuously work in teams and try to solve complex issues, I know that the case competitions and group work at Krannert have helped me tremendously in my career.

What’s your favorite memory from your time as a Krannert/Purdue student?
My favorite memory of Purdue was the entire first week where you are meeting new people from all over the world. It opens up your eyes to all the opportunities and teaches you how much you don’t know.

Looking back at your days at Purdue, what might you do differently?
I would not do anything differently because I learned the most from the mistakes that I made. Krannert is the place where you want to make those mistakes, because it will help immensely in your career to not make those same mistakes.

What do you do outside of work to make an impact on society?
I like to get involved in learn about how I can help with moving Detroit forward. There are a lot of opportunities to help the city progress and to build on the momentum and turnaround that has taken place over the past couple years.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been working for two Fortune 30 companies within my first two years of graduation. I was fortunate to work for Procter and Gamble after graduating and being able to observe all of the great things they do and accomplish. Now I get to take the things I learned and apply them at General Motors which is a Fortune 10 company.
