Top Tip to Mentees:

There are many tips I can give to the incoming freshmen students. First tip I would give them is to go career fairs. I believe that it is really important as a freshman to go to one during their first semester so that they can be comfortable talking to recruiters in a career fair setting. Also it can get them a head start in building a resumé and practicing elevator pitches that will be beneficial for them in searching for jobs. Second tip I would give them is to attend events on campus. Whether it's seeing the basketball game with the Paint Crew or staying up all night PUDM, it's great to attend these events to break from the stressful schedule of freshman year and to have fun and meet new people. Lastly, the last tip I can give to them is to always have a plan of study planned out. It is very important for them to get into the prerequisite classes freshman year so they can get into the upper division classes on time. Also, sometimes classes in Krannert get fully booked early during registration period, so having a plan of study can get them different alternatives of classes and still stay on course towards graduating on time.
