Registration deadline for data science conference is fast approaching

Tuesday, May 8, 2018

The registration deadline is May 15 for the Conference on Data Science for Business and Economics, hosted by the Krannert School of Management’s Business Information and Analytics Center (BIAC) and sponsored by Accenture.  The conference will take place on May 25-26, with a welcome reception in the evening of May 24.  Anyone interested in data science from any discipline or background is welcome to attend this conference; registration fee is $150 per person, with a reduced rate of $75 for students.

The conference received well over four times more submissions than the number of talks/papers it had planned for originally, resulting in an exciting program with an interesting array of keynote presentations, papers, and posters, and representing a wide variety of data science research. There will be four keynote speakers:

  • David Bell, Xinmei Zhang and Yongge Dai Professor of Marketing at the University of Pennsylvania;
  • Ramayya Krishnan, William and Ruth Cooper Professor of Management Science and Information Systems at Carnegie-Mellon University and President-Elect of INFORMS;
  • Cristopher Moore, Resident Professor at the Santa Fe Institute and Fellow of the American Physical Society, American Mathematical Society and American Association for the Advancement of Science; and
  • Rakesh Vohra, George A. Weiss and Lydia Bravo Weiss University Professor, with appointments in Economics, Electrical and Systems Engineering, and Computer and Information Science, at the University of Pennsylvania.
