DCMME Conference

The Krannert School of Management’s Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises (DCMME) is hosting its fall 2019 Conference on Friday, Sept. 27, at Fowler Hall in Purdue University’s Stewart Center in West Lafayette.

This year’s event will take the theme “Managing Manufacturing Agility," which is the ability to synchronize manufacturing capability to deliver on a mix of orders, with different margins and lead times, to maximize profitability.

“Often, short window jobs offer significant margins but require quick response, while long time frame jobs require efficient cost competitive bids,” explains DCMME Director Ananth Iyer, senior associate dean at the Krannert School and Purdue’s Susan Bulkeley Butler Chair in Operations Management. “Understanding how to manage this portfolio effectively requires manufacturing agility.”

Tim Lawrence, senior vice president of operations at Hill-Rom Holdings, will be the keynote speaker. In addition to Iyer, other speakers include Angus McLeod, Purdue’s education consultant for the Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN); Bryce Brumm, president of Standard Industrial; Natalie Huestis, manager of employer initiatives at Skillful Indiana; and Monique Apter, vice president of sales at HDS Global.

To view the complete lineup of speakers, schedule and register for the conference, which is free and open to industry professionals, faculty and students, visit dccme.org.
