RemoteApp / virtual.krannert.purdue.edu Upgrade, Thursday, May 12, 5:00pm – 10:00pm

RemoteApp and RemoteApp for Research (aka https://virtual.krannert.purdue.edu) will be down for upgrade on Thursday, May 12, starting at 5:00pm. The “connection broker” servers, i.e. the servers that connect you to the virtual applications you wish to use, will be upgraded to Windows Server 2022. This means that the https://virtual.krannert.purdue.edu website will be down, and it will not be possible to open virtual applications for at least 30 minutes or longer into the evening.

We recommend exiting any open RemoteApp sessions, including RemoteApp For Research sessions, prior to this work as we cannot guarantee that these sessions would be accessible after the work is complete. It is possible, we just don’t know.

Remote Desktop should not be impacted by the work. Users remotely connecting to their campus desktops, virtual research machines and/or ResearchNow VMs should be unaffected.
