Krannert Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of Krannert alumni and donors, we have over 110 privately endowed scholarship funds that provide scholarship aid to more than 250 Krannert students each year.  To maximize scholarship consideration, students should complete the Purdue University Scholarship Application as well as a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Dec. 15th.


Allyn T. Knoche Scholarship

Established in 2007 by Allyn T. Knoche (BS Industrial Economics '56)

Criteria: Undergraduates in the Department of Economics based on academic merit and financial need


Barbara B. & James E. Hayes Scholarship

Established by Barbi (BA Physical Education ’84) & Jim (BS Industrial Management ’84) Hayes in 2007

Criteria: Undergraduates in the Krannert School of Management based on academic merit and financial need. Recipients must be Illinois residents from the Chicago metropolitan area


Business Opportunity Program Scholarship Fund

Established in 2007 by advocates of the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program

Merit based scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students participating in the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program


Daniel Frate Scholarship in Management

Established in 2018 by Daniel (MS Management '85) and Laura Frate

To be eligible for a scholarship, a recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the University, and be enrolled in the University's School of Management. Selection of the recipient will be made with a first preference for a student who graduated from the Benedictine High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and second preference for a student residing in the Cleveland, Ohio area. All else being equal, the student with the most financial need should be given preference.

Geyer Family Scholarship Endowment l

Established by Robert Geyer (BS Industrial Management '69) and Paula Ravenscroft Geyer in 2008

Criteria: Scholarships based on academic merit for undergraduate in the Krannert School of Management

Established by Robert Geyer (BS Industrial Management '69) and Paula Ravenscroft Geyer in 2012

Criteria: Scholarships based on academic merit for in-state students enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


Harold & Rosy Mills BOP Scholarship

Established by Harold (BS Management ’93) and Rosa Mills (BS Finance ’93) in 2017

Criteria: African-American, Hispanic or Latino undergraduate student participating in the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program within the Krannert School of Management

Preference given to first year students with minimum of 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA


Jack & Ann Butts Family Scholarship

Established by Jack (BS Industrial Management ’62) and Ann E. Butts in 2015

Criteria: In-state undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need

Preference given to a Krannert student


Jane Brock-Wilson Scholarship for Women in Management

Established by Jane Brock Wilson (BS Industrial Management ’78) in 2015

Criteria: Undergraduate female enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


John & Denice Kelly Scholars in Entrepreneurship

Established by John (BS Management ’80) and Denice Kelly in 2011

Criteria: Undergraduate scholarships based first on financial need and second on merit

Preference given to students who meet the following (In order of importance): (1) Enrolled in the Krannert School of Management; (2) Working towards certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation through the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship; (3) domestic student; (4) out-of-state student


John O. ‘Jack’ & Cheryl D. Coffin Scholarship (Presidential / Trustees)

Established by Jack (BS Industrial Economics-Science ’59) and Cheryl Coffin in 2008

Criteria: Based on academic merit for undergraduates enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


Julie Wainwright Scholarship for Women Scholarship

Established by Julia Wainwright (BSIM ’79) in 2020

Criteria: Female student enrolled in the Integrated Business & Engineering degree program. Selection is based on academic merit and preference is given to students who are participating in the University’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program.


Kenneth S. Rozwat Scholarship

Established in 1991 in memory of Kenneth Scott Rozwat (BS Industrial Management ‘86)

Criteria: A Krannert undergraduate student with a minimum 2.75 GPA, involved in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated aptitude and ability


Larry J. & Cynthia A. Schum Scholarship

Established by Larry (BS Industrial Management ’76) and Cynthia (BS Industrial Management ’78) Schum in 2015

Criteria: In-state undergraduate student who has demonstrated financial need

Preference given to student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management


Lazard Family Endowed Scholarship

Established by Bob (BSIM ’76) and Peggy (BS ’76 HHS) Lazard in 2014

Criteria: Student must demonstrate high academic merit and financial need and preference will be given to students who are studying accounting or management.


McKelvey Merit Scholarship

Established by Collin (BS Air Transportation ’48) McKelvey in 1996

Criteria: Undergraduate students who are graduates of an Ohio public high school and Ohio residents only, with a preference for incoming freshmen enrolled in the Krannert School of Management or the College of Science


Nancy H. Handel Scholarship Award

Established in 2000 by Nancy Handel (BS Industrial Management ’72)

Criteria: Krannert students with minimum 3.0 GPA in their primary area of study, and are also active in extracurricular activities

Preference given to incoming first year students who are female


Nancy Handel Study Abroad Scholarship in School of Management

Study abroad scholarship for Krannert undergraduates participating in a study abroad program.

Students must complete an application through the Krannert Study Abroad Office


Nellie Lichlyter Scholarship

Established by ORL Foundation in 2019

Criteria: For an Indiana resident first generation undergraduate student enrolled in the Krannert School of Management. Preference shall be given to students majoring in Industrial Management or Supply Chain, Information and Analytics.


Noden Undergrad Scholarship

Established in 2000 by Ron (BS Social Sciences ’95) and Mary Ann Noden

Criteria: Merit based scholarship for undergraduate students from Hawaii, Illinois or Michigan, enrolled in the Krannert School of Management. Student must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior.


Palmer Family Business Opportunity Program Scholarship

Established in 2016 by recommendation of Tim Palmer (BA English ’80) by the Palmer Family Foundation of the Bank of America Charitable Gift Fund

Criteria: Female and/or underrepresented minority who participates in the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program and is enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


Peggy and Bob Lazard Scholarship

Established by Bob (BSIM ’76) and Peggy (BS ’76 HHS) Lazard in 2020

Criteria: Candidates must be an Indiana resident and demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be given to underrepresented minority students.


Randich Scholarship

Established by David (BSIM ’83) and Paula Fletcher Randich in 2019

Criteria: In-state student enrolled in the Krannert School of Management who demonstrates financial need.


Rene & Karen Lewin Management Scholarship

Established by Rene (BS Industrial Management ’68) and Karen Lewin in 2015

Criteria: Undergraduate student from Indiana who is a female student and/or underrepresented minority student; enrolled in the Krannert School of Management; with demonstrated academic merit.


Semler Scholarship

Established by Jerry (BS Industrial Economics ’58; HDR Management ’02) and Rosemary (BS Social Sciences ’59) Semler in 2015

Criteria: Undergraduate scholarships for in-state students who have demonstrate financial need

Preference given to Krannert Students


Spartan Trail Foundation Scholarship

Established in 2018 through the generosity of the Spartan Train Foundation

A full tuition scholarship for undergraduates enrolled in the Krannert School of Management with demonstrated academic merit and financial need. 


Steven W. & Rhonda S. Pavicich Scholarship

Established in 2016 by Steven (BS Account/Management ’90) and Rhonda (BA Communication ’91) Pavicich

Criteria: Out-of-state undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic merit and/or have demonstrated financial need

Preference for students enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


Howatt Scholars’ Program

Established by Thomas (MS Labor/Industrial Relations ’72) Howatt in 2018

Criteria: One annual scholarship granted each year to a member of the Delta Triton chapter of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity at the University who lives in the chapter house. The scholarship shall be granted to the student (incoming sophomore, junior or senior) who has the highest GPA from the previous year of all members of Phi Sigma Kappa

Susan Bulkeley Butler Scholarship & Fellowship

Established in 2015 by Susan Bulkeley Butler (BSIM ’65; HDR Management ’99)

Criteria: Annual merit based scholarships and fellowships for Krannert students


Thomas L. & Joyce M. Fisher Scholarship for URMs (020774)

Established by Thomas (BS Industrial Management ’66) and Joyce Fisher in 2015

Criteria: Undergraduate scholarship for underrepresented minority student participating in the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program, with demonstrated academic merit and financial need

Preference given to first year students


William E. Kassling Dean’s Undergraduate Scholarship

Established by William (BS Industrial Management ’67) and Patricia Kassling in 2005

Criteria: Undergraduate students enrolled in the Krannert School of Management


William J Deputy Scholarship

Established by the estate of William J. Deputy (BSIM ’67) in 2009

Criteria: For an undergraduate student recipient enrolled in the Krannert School of Management who residents in the “Michiana” area. These areas include Elkhart and St. Joe County in Indiana, and Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe County in Michigan.


Yundt Family Scholarship

Established by Jeff Yundt (BSIM ‘67) in 2016

Criteria: Undergraduate who is an Indiana resident with financial need and enrolled in the School of Management.


Yundt Scholarship

Established by Jeff (BSIM ‘67) and Dorothy (AAS ’80 from PNW Hammond) Yundt in 2009

Criteria: Undergraduates enrolled in the Krannert School of Management and based on academic merit.
