The Larsen Leaders Academy (LLA) is the home of Krannert undergraduate students who are motivated toward high academic achievement and developing essential leadership skills to take control of their future success.

Admission to the Larsen Leaders Academy

The Larsen Leaders Academy offers high-achieving business students enhanced academic and professional development opportunities and experiences. LLA students are highly motivated and participate in Krannert and campus-wide conferences, workshops, case competitions, consulting groups and more. Academy graduates have high ethical standards, are accomplished, prepared and dynamic leaders with a strong work ethic, and are ready to take their giant leap into the business world.

Incoming freshman students with a 3.7 unweighted GPA and a 28 ACT or 1320 SAT score are automatically admitted to the Larsen Leaders Academy, and no additional application is needed.

Incoming freshman who have a 3.7 unweighted GPA, but who do not have an ACT or SAT test score, and desire to be in the Larsen Leaders Academy must submit an essay to be considered for admission. Please submit your essay to Steve Shelby, Director of Larsen Leaders Academy, at

Existing Krannert Undergraduates

Existing Krannert undergraduate students who were not automatically admitted to the Larsen Leaders Academy but are interested in joining may apply based on the following:

  • Be within their first three semesters at Krannert
  • Have completed four of their six MAI courses with a 3.0 GPA in those courses
  • Have attended three of the following activities: Krannert Club Expo; SMEF Career Fair; Krannert Leadership Speakers Series; Doster Leadership Conference; been a mentee or mentor in a Krannert mentoring program; been involved in a Krannert-sanctioned case competition; or joined at least one Krannert-sanctioned club.
